What We Believe

We are a congregation of committed followers of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to glorify God in everything we say and do (1 Corinthians 10:31). We hold the Word of God (The Bible) in highest regard as our only rule for faith and practice.

As a reformed Baptist church, we see the importance of historic creeds and confessions. We hold to the London Baptist Confession of 1689 as our statement of faith.

We also hold to the five solas of the Reformation:

  • Scripture Alone – The Bible is infallible and authoritative for all things of faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • Faith Alone – A person is saved by faith alone in Christ and not by works (Galatians 3:6-11)
  • Grace Alone – Our salvation is a gift of God’s grace (Ephesians 1:3-8)
  • Christ Alone – Christ is the only Savior of mankind (Acts 4:12)
  • To God Alone be Glory – All of life is to be lived to the glory of God (Romans 11:36)

We agree with these historic creeds: the Apostles creed, the Athanasian creed, the Nicean creed (381 AD) and the Chalcedonian creed (451 AD). We believe that local churches are to be independent of any outside ruling body exercising authority over them. Jesus Christ has provided for this by giving the church godly men who lead the church. These men are called elders (pastor, overseer and elder all refer to the same office) and are responsible for the oversight, health and protection of the church family.
